Not all rust treatments are created equally. With over 50 years’ experience in corrosion protection and prevention, we are excited to include Evapo-Rust to our repertoire.
Evapo-Rust is an award winning, non-toxic, ready to use formulation, that will provide fast and effective restoration of your rusty items.
We are so excited to share this product. It is so safe and easy to use, and with no pungent fumes, it won’t leave you feeling heady.
Evapo-Rust is not at all corrosive, and will not harm adjoining materials, such as plastic or PVC, on the item that you are treating.
It sounds gentle, but when it comes to rust, this product is hard hitting. Even the toughest, most built up rust, will seemingly evaporate after a treatment.
Read on to learn how easy the whole process of removing rust with Evapo-Rust really is:
Let’s Get Started
To get started, you will need two things:
1. A container with a lid
Ideally, the container should be large enough to completely submerge the item you are treating.
If the item is very large, it is possible to conduct the treatment in stages.
Depending on the severity of rust, the item may need to soak over several hours, or longer.
A lid will prevent evaporation of the product.
You don’t want to unnecessarily lose your Evapo-Rust, because it can be reused for several applications!
2. Evapo-Rust
Figure out what volume of Evapo-Rust you will need to fill your container and achieve full submersion of the pieces you wish to soak.
The product is available to buy in 1 litre and 5 litre jerry cans.
Don’t forget, the solution can be reused for several applications, so once you’re finished, pour it back into the jerry can for safe storage.
Let the Magic Happen
All good things take time, and the rust removal process is no different.
It’s important to remember that Evapo-Rust will not harm the metal, even if you leave it soaking for longer than it needs.
Since the soak times vary from piece to piece, we recommend checking your item periodically and wiping it with a rag to see how the rust removal is progressing.
Interestingly, Evapo-Rust works more slowly at lower temperatures, so bear this in mind if you’ve been storing your product in a cold outdoor shed.
For optimal results, the product will work best at room temperature.
Prepare to be Amazed
Once all of the rust has been displaced from your treasure, it’s time to remove it from the Evapo-Rust bath.
Simply rinse off your item with water, and let it dry.
Now, take a moment to appreciate your item, which by now will look as good as new!
Rust Protect, Rust Protect, Rust Protect…
Your rust free item is looking amazing! But don’t stop to admire it for too long… It won’t take long for that pesky rust to start forming again!
A product like CRC Soft Seal seals out moisture and corrosive contaminants, and prevents re-rusting.
