When the rain falls in New Zealand’s winter it can be pretty unrelenting so it pays to protect yourself against the elements as best you can. Outdoor enthusiasts will tell you that the best way to do this is to get a solid and reliable waterproof spray to apply to your winter gear. This includes the likes of sports gear, tents, footwear, snow and ski gear and more.

CRC Aqua Armour is a fantastic waterproof spray that acts as a high-strength multipurpose water repellant, providing long-lasting waterproofing for outdoor applications and fabrics. It works by penetrating beyond the surface layer of the given material, forming a strong, long-term barrier of protection. This repels water and keeps moisture out without any stickiness, discolouration or stiffness.

CRC Aqua Armour is easy to use following these simple steps:

How to apply our waterproof spray

1. Prepare surface
The first step is to prepare the surface of the item you are waterproofing. This basically means cleaning and drying it thoroughly. Moisture and/or contaminants can inhibit the effectiveness of the spray so be sure to start with this step.

2. Shake and spray
Give your can of CRC Aqua Armour a good shake so the contents is well mixed. Hold the can upright at approximately a 15 - 20cm distance from the surface to be waterproofed.

Apply the spray evenly in a smooth sweeping motion until moist. Try to avoid over-saturation and do not apply on suede or delicate leathers. 3. Apply a second coat
For the best results, apply a second coat once the first coat has dried. For maximum performance, allow to dry for 24 hours after the final coat.

4. Wash and reapply
When the item becomes dirty or soiled you are free to wash as per usual in the washing machine or otherwise. Once the item is cleaned and dried, CRC Aqua Armour can be reapplied following the same process described above.

Making waterproof spray work is easy!

As you can see, you’ll have no trouble at all applying CRC Aqua Armour, giving your winter equipment a great water-resistant layer of protection and keeping you protected from the elements.
